General maxima forums have this in discussion.

Has anyone with a 5th gen or 5.5 ever tried this or currently using this?

I ordered this cable - OBD-II Cable
This is a high quality J1962 to DB9F cable that is 6 feet in length. This cable will also work as a replacement cable for many other OBD-II scan tools such as Autotap!

$15.99

But Im not sure if thats all I need. What is the interface for $89.00?

The cable is useless without the interface and the interfaces are usually mated to a specific piece of software. Not always, but most interfaces will only work with the software written for it.

Org,

That interface or cable is not going to work. It is a Consult 1 based interface pre 1996 cars. A C2 version is being worked on.
