Have to Fix Bose Stereo... Again!
Hi,
After the ordeal of getting it fixed the first time, I thought it was over with and everything was working beautifully. But now, the left side speaker problem is acting up again.
Has this happened to any of you multiple times? How did you handle it?
My warranty will be up in November of this year. Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks!

If you know someone good with a soldering iron, take out your bose (~1-2 hrs the first time) Remove the top cover to the sterio. You will see a thin conductor strip from the laser pickup to a circuit board inside the Bose. This strip will have a 45º angle cust before the connector on the circuit board. <-this angle is the problem.
Myself, I have pressed on this connection and things will sound gread for a while, then eventually crap out again.
Have you electronics guru permanentlly solder this connection. I have not done this as I am installing a nav system instead.

Is standard SE stereo decent or should I find Bose?
Hey guys,
I just joined. I'm in the market for an '02-'03 SE and was wondering if it is worth the extra time and expense to find a Bose stereo or is the standard one pretty decent? I use my iPod a lot in the car, usually thru cassette adapter for lack of a better way.
What do y'all think? Advice will be appreciated!
Thanks,
Jason

The 02's and the 03's just suck as%&*.. first the headlight now the headUnit and Nissan just doesn't' give a ****. I just bought my 02 maxima a month ago from the dealership and the HU is terriable. I was a very huge fan of Bose considering the fact the home theater system is just out standing but it seem like "JBL" is doing much better. My boy's 04 Toyota camry.. has a JBL unit..OMG its just outstanding... I looked up to bose and nissan .. but i think i have look away from them since they don't accept that fact that they models have defects...

Not even close to how many problems Ford vehicles have. The reason for this is mainly because Ford doesn't care about the quality of their mass production vehicles.

my 02 doesnt suck... others are happy with theirs. if you have a problem with your bose, then get pissed at the bose, not nissan. ive got a JVC in mine.

BOSE Sub not working
Hey guys, my first post here, hopefully the first of many. Anyways, when I got my 2k2 with the BOSE, I turned up my favorite cd first off was pissed that the volume was capped at 31, and secondly pissed by the fact that there was no bass. I thought what the hell, theres a sub back there, I felt it and turns out it wasn't even on! While the music was playing, I unplugged the plug outta the back of the BOSE amp in the trunk, left it unplugged for about 5 seconds, then plugged it back in and BAM! I have bass now, I think its a lot, but then again I was totally bassless for about 2 weeks.

My 2k2 has a similar issue. If I take a bump the wrong way, the left front speaker cuts out, but only when I'm using the cd player. The only fix I have found is to switch to a diff disc and then switch back. It is like a bump misaligns a component (laser maybe?) in the head unit and the disc switch re-aligns the component to it's default position. However, I'm not an audio guru enough to know for certain. Anyone have any other ideas what it might be? The obvious first choice would be to replace the HU, but unfortunately for me I'm pretty sure I'm out of warrenty and I know I'm out of money, so I guess I just have to live with it.
That's interesting. I too assumed the head units were made by Bose. I just assumed that since Bose is so intent on audio quality that they wouldn't support the use of their speakers without being mated to their specific head unit. At least with home audio, to me the Bose speakers sound best when tied to a Bose receiver.
Actually, Clarion makes the headunit in our cars. They're at fault here - not Bose.
