*pics* Sparco Aluminum GRIP pedals

I recently bought these on ebay for $55 shipped....and all I have to say is WOW...what a difference aftermarket pedals can make....before yesterday, I thought pedals were such an overrated part to buy for a car...I now think differently....my first impressions were, overall better control of the clutch and brakes....a much more comfortable surface for my feet...and finally, it dresses up the interior so nicely...

one thing that significantly changed is my ability to heel toe downshift....I can now heel toe very very easily...its feels great! if u notice in the picture, the brake pedal and gas pedal are spaced real close together (instead of evenly spaced out).....I purposely did this becuz I wanted to make heel toe downshifting a breeze...

I like how the pedals are plush with the interior.

Looks great.

How are they installed? Over the existing ones? or do they replace the OEM?

they do not bolt on to the existing pedals....drilling is required which makes installation harder....I was pretty nervous before I got started becuz I was affraid of not being able to position it correctly....

clutch and brake pedals I took off the rubber covers to expose the bare metal plates... drilled those with the brake pedal being closer to the gas pedal side...as for the gas pedal, there is no metal plate behind it, its just a rubber pedal with an arm...so I drilled through the stock rubber arm and bolted it on top of the stock unit...u can kinda tell in the pix

looks good andrew. I have size 8 feet and can still heel-toe on the stock pedals, you must have really small feet

are you doing the conventional heel toe method (heel swings rightward towards the gas while the toe is still on brake) or ball of your foot pivoting method. The maxima doesn't provide much room to do the first method but since the brake and gas are so close it makes the second method easier

left side of foot on the brake and roll right side of foot to blip the gas

I've been trying to figure out how to heel-toe shift with my autotragic, but haven't figured it out yet!

nice mod. Someday I'll stop being lazy and start doing little things like that.

I had those pedals on my last car, they were nice. Like someone else said, your foot will slip off in the rain.

ionno i'm size 10 and found it pretty damn difficult to heel toe on the stock pedals....but then again...i am using the conventional method u mentioned (heel swinging, toe brake) which IMO, is hard with stock pedals....or maybe there was a trick to it, or i just suck at it

size 10 feet using the conventional heel toe method ...... i'm surprised you have enough room to pivot around there.. haha
