03 seats upgrade ?

Well I just bought me some leather heated seats for my 01 GXE off a 03 Maxima, I am going to be installing em in my car. I remember reading somewhere that the power seat plugs on a 01 vs 02-03 are different cause of the CAN-Bus system utilized in the 02-03. Is that true ? My car is pre-wired for power seats even thou I don't have any and I would like to make it fully functional. I also gotta wire in the seat heaters, along with making my own wire harness for it- but that I am not worried bout. Anyone try to do the same swap ? I got the front 2 seats with side impact bags ( my car aint got side impact airbags but oh well) seat heaters, and then the whole rear seat including the side bolster/pads in black leather for 300 bux. I need to pick em up this week from WI where they are located and then I will try to install em.

Did you try to wire up power directly to the switch on the side of the seat ? I don't see how I can't get them to work if I apply 12V to each motor. How did your passenger seat work ? did you have a connector under the carpet for the passenger seat all prewired ? Was it just plug n play ?

Yeah I noticed the extra plug in the FSM for the 02 Maxima, I also talked with E55AMG and he said his Maxima has 2 plugs also. I think I should be able to figure out how to make this thing work in my car, I have both 01 and 02 FSMs and all I need is figure out which wires get what power. I should have the seats sometime this week. I can't get the harness plugs from the 03, so I have to rig something up to make it work- even thou I am the only person ever driving the car, so adjusting it to my prefference and leaving em there is also an option- which I don't wanna use.

I changed my 00 seats from the beige cloth to the black leather Im not sure what year the black leathers were from but my original passanger seat was manual and now I have the power and it uses the same harness that was prewired with the car.

dang, that was a really good deal! i really want to find some 5.5 gen heated leather seats, cuz the AM leather my car came with really sucks....it's really hard and it doesn't look as good as the OEM leather
anyway, good luck with that, and let us know how the installation went!

i think i got the best deal...hehehe....my uncle owned a body shop...had his ex gf's wrecked 02 there that was going to the junkyard... so i had to exchange parts on my car w/ that one so that the insurance wouldn't suspect anything.... lol...i got all 4 dr panels, all the plastic panels, leather seats front and rear...bose grille, hid kit..but my uncle just cut the wires and took them out...so it's missing the ignitors....and etc.. for free.... hehehe, i wish he still owned the shop.... dammit... =)

yeh nice and tight what is it.,

I have 01 power/heated in an 02 the power was easy just needed to run 1 wire for power. the heated seems a little more difficult does anyone have information about the plugs. My guess is it would use 2 power wires one for low heat and one for high plus a ground probably or switch ground with one powere wire.

Well the deal fell through, I had my brother bid on them via his E-bay account. He won the auction for 300 dollars. These seats where bout 80 miles away from me, but when I said I wanna pay for them in person they refused to take a payment and inssisted on me paying 1st then picking them up. Since these are leather and puncturing or ripping the leather is eassy- and pics of them where from a distance and rear seat looked funky to me in the pics I refused to pay ahead of pick up- no refunds they said. So I ended up passing on the deal and just bought myself a used Q45 with nicer leather seats

the only thing i noticed different in 00 and 02 power seats is that the 02 has a short delay after u press a button for the power seat as with 00 its instant.
