Anyone have pics of their GXE dash kit?
i have a 2001 with bose and im replacing it with a pioneer DEH-7600. I got the metra kit but i dont think it will look right, being black and not flowing with the rest of the center console... So im interested in getting the GXE dash kit with a pocket. Anyone have a set up like this I could see? Thanks.

Yep, looks like it, I hate the fact that you have to get a plastic "harness" to install aftermarket decks.

Double DIN DVD or Navigation Head Units look amazing on the 5th gen max. I know this has been discussed in other threads, but seeing as theres a pretty big demand (or maybe its just me) for Double DIN dash kits for 00-03 maxes, why havent they started making them yet? The GXE double din dash opening is the next best thing correct? Isnt it around $110 from the dealer?

Hey guys,
Alright, so I'm a little late on this one, but I haven't been here in a while, so bear with me.
Here's a side-by-side of when I had the Metra and then replaced it with the GXE. The Metra seemed to fit decently, but it looks terrible so far as color matching is concerned. On the other hand, Alpine's trim ring fit with the Metra and NOT with the GXE kit. I believe irish used a trim piece from another aftermarket install kit to remove the gap left by the GXE kit.
Make sure you check the classifieds before buying this thing new. I found a guy on here selling the trim (with vents) and pocket for $50, which is about half price, and it was in great shape.
Good luck!
