5th Gen guys looking for a cheap CAI(56k It may take a minute)

For anyone looking for a Place Racing style intake for under 50 bucks here is how.......

I was looking on getting Place racing(cattman) CAI, But $200 was a little out of my price range for a intake. So a little searching online I found that the CAI sold on ebay for the 95-99 max would fit our car very easy.Sample of EBAY intake
You have to by some new hoses for the vacuum lines. And drill a hole for your Intake temperature sensor.
So i spent around 50 bucks for a "True" CAI.

And it can be converted to a WAI in about 5 mins.

Quick question....If that was the foglight hole, how are you drawing in air once you put the foglight back in?

i think it draws air in from all the surrounding lil holes and what not. I mean i have the cattman intkae and they dont tell me i have to drill any other holes besides the one to fit it in.

What looks ghetto about it....Is it the flex looking part?It actually helps the down part of the pipe not move when the engine moves back and forth....
It draws air from little holes near the splash guard and it is not sucking air from the engine bay,Plus at the track it takes 2 sec to remove the fog light and its like a "Ram air"...

it just looks ghetto as hell with the flex section being smack dab in the middle of the setup...why not attached to the TB where it was stock? it would be more effective there than right next to the MAF

It needs the elbow flex because it is made for a USIM(4Gen), the 00VI sits higher up and the angles don't work.
