Why is my ABS light coming on?
#2
Either 1 of 5 sensors is faulty or the module itself is inoperative. The ABS module contains the hydraulics as well as a computer board and sells for about $1200 at the dealer.
My 2003 Max had a faulty module but was covered fully under warranty. Your regular brakes operate independently of ABS so if I had an older high milegae vehicle with a bad module I would put tape over the check engine light

i wouldnt... thats just damn stupid.
the usual problem is a wheel speed sensor. have the code pulled and replace the faulty sensor. or you can pull them out andsee if theyve got a bunch of stuf on the magnet and clean them, which ive heard works too.
