Glare Sux!!

Glare Sux!!
Alright, I'm tired of getting flashed by oncoming traffic. I've got the Prolumen H4 hi/low kit installed and have them aimed down. What should I do to get rid of the glare? Isn't there a shield somewhere? The only thing is that it is for a rebased bulb, which I do not have. Please don't suggest projectors, I already know this, but do not have the funds to do a retro.

What k rating do you have?
Just so you know the glare may not be that bad especially if you have it aimed down...My dad has a stock 2003 BMW 3 series with HIDs and every single time I'm driving his car I get high flashed by oncoming traffic and he said it happens to him all the time...it's just the brightness...if you can see well...and cops dont' give you trouble...ur fine haha...and you get the satisfaction of then turning on your highbeams, just to show them that you can go even brighter ..good luck

Not even any of those cute Oklahoma college girls? That's a shame.

yea havent gotten brighted much till this past week. Four times in 3 days is really bugging me. I dont understand why its happening so much lately. It was even worse in my dads X5 with HIDs. People were constantly just turning on their brights and leaving them on. I just be the jerk back and turn mine on too

it's just driving around those uneven streets where oncoming traffic will see your lights flash as it goes up and down...i've been high beamed a few times but only when i'm either going uphill or those bumpy uneven roads. but if you have an aftermarket kit those will produce more glare which will look like you have your highs on hah

Check your bulbs and make sure you have D2Rs and not D2S if you have an aftermarket kit installed in your headlights. D2R are designed for reflector type headlight like our 02-03 Maximas, and D2S are for projector type headlights.
I had D2S bulbs in my AE headlights a while ago, and my light output was soooo strong that when I saw a cop get ahead of me I would turn into a side street to avoid putting him in the spot light. I would get flashed by oncoming drivers ALL the time it sucked really bad.

you do have rebased bulbs. If they fit into ur stock h4 housing, they are rebased.

Lol...that's quality picture above and it's clear who would win that war of low blows...anyways back to topic
I didn't think of this until now...I don't have any experience with Eyelids for the headlights so I could be totally wrong, but it doesn't seem from pictures I've seen that the light from headlights passes through them very well. I'm mentioning this because maybe the glare into oncoming driver's eyes could be reduced by installing these. Also, I have heard and assume it to be true that performing the AE mod to your headlights (making the housing black and not chrome and shiny) will also help to prevent glare...Just some ideas.
