probably the mount if it doesn't stop. only one is electric, the front one. you can disconnect it safely. it changes nothing at all.

Engine mounts question. Please help

Hey Guys,
I searched extensively and to my surprise I could not find any info related to the engine mounts…
I was told be a dealer that I need to change motor mounts because my engine is kind of loose and moves a bit more than it is supposed to while shifting or changing RPMs. Originally I stopped by to diagnose a strange low frequency noise that the engine/and or AT makes when shifting from D to R back and fourth while parking. I also heard a similar noise when AT is shifting while driving but the noise from the engine covers it up… While I did not have energy to get the dealer to answer all my questions about the particular source of that noise, he said that I definitely need all 4 mounts because they must be changes all together and cause the engine to kick something, streach the flex pipe and so on.
Here is the surprising part: he recommended ONLY the stock mounts and even refused to consider installation of any aftermarket models because they never fit and cause a lot of vibration. I would not mind that if they were not priced over $700 at Nissan’s dealership. Given the quote to replace them (about $400) it is way too expensive for some rubber mounts!
Do you guys have any experience with it/suggestions?
Million thanks.

01-GXE w AT.

Uhhh. My dealer just changed the one mount. If I could do it again I would of just kept the damn thing and save the money. Thats me. If some highschool kid ever asked what the noise was, I'd just say it was a supercharger .

turns out it was the front motor mount. my mechanic charged 205 for the part, and 100 for the install (two hours labor, had to remove radiator fan out da way) 300 for the deal.

now i just have to figure out my SES code P0430.
