I own a 2001 Maxima built 09/00. I seem to be having a 2nd to 3rd slip. It only happens at full throttle and does not happen every time. I have 19k miles on the car and am just now noticing the slip. I can't be sure my vehicle falls into the affected vehicles or not.

Can someone help me with this so I can arm myself with some ammo before I go to the dealer. I have downloaded the Service Bulletin.

I'm not sure if your subject line precludes me from replying. I would use as many keywords in the TSB as you can memorize. Slowness of the shift, etc. The new solenoid really made the difference in my car. The TCM helped a little, but the new solenoid did the trick.

Another good thing to do is see if you can get it to repro every time you do something. Mine was pretty good about slipping under full throttle up any decent size hill. If they can't find it, take them for a test drive. Don't let them make you feel like an idiot it took me like 5 tries to get them to find it and fix it.

My dad's 2000 I30 has the 3Y101 TCM and the 85X04 solenoid. It only slips 1-2 under heavy throttle and/or load. I have an appointment for Wednesday to verify slip to get the new 3Y160 TCM.
If your car was built before 9/28/00, the bulletin applies. So it's pretty unlikely your car was made between 9/28-9/31. Are you able to determine if your VIN applies?
You definitely have a solenoid problem because my dad's never has even the slightest slip 2-3 with the latest solenoids.
Have them check with Consult to find your TCM part #. The 31036-4Y901 is software upgradeable and is specified in the bulletin. If you have the older one (4Y900)? it is not software upgradeable and needs to be replaced.

I would have to agree with the info provided in this thread. Taking a test drive with them and pointing out when the car slips will really help.
