Congrats on the purchase . Once you have it installed, you'll definately feel an improvement. But you'll REALLY feel an improvement with the RSB!

serin,

how have your tires (235/45/r17's) improved handling? noticable?

well, it changed my factory wheel hop from a high pitched squeal to a lower pitched sanding sound
actually, after i broke them in, much of the hop went away for smoother take off. handling is SO much more confident. there's a sweeping freeway overpass that i go over almost daily. with the stocks, i felt that i was pushing my luck around 50-55. now i push it at about 70-75.
it's mostly a gain in predictability for me.
i got a nail in the sidewall that couldn't be patched so i had to get new tires. best thing that ever happened.

Did you install the 235/45's on your stock rims? Any difficulties?

no problems.
the shop i took them to didn't even say anything about the size.
i've seen some posts here that made me a little nervous, but i haven't had any problems. there is a slight bulge now that i don't remember being there before. nothing you'd notice unless you were looking for it.

Don't wait and hear what everybody on this site already knows.....handling is increased dramatically with the FSB and Courtesy has a fine piece. Order it, its less than 100.0 shipped and with be one thing you will never want to do without.

Are 235/45/17's wider than 225/50/17's? are 245/45/17's wider than 235/45/17's?

yes, the first number, 235, 245... determines the width of the tire in mm. The next number, 45, determines the sidewall height. It is used as a percent so that in this case, the sidewall height is 45% of the width.

Point taken...one mod at a time though. I'm waiting for my new 17" rims and performance tires. When I get a feel for how that improves the car, then I'll look at a ftsb.
