ECU Update/Rev Issue
ECU Update/Rev Issue
As some of you may have read, after cleaning my TB I had some serious idle issues. After self-performing the accelerator pedal and idle air learning procedures it still wasn't fixed. Even had the dealer perform the same procedure. No dice.
I just recently got the ECU update per the hesitation TSB with a new MAF. For some unknown reason this has all but cured my bouncy rev issue when braking to a stop. From what I am told the update should have only changed fuel maps and the like but for some reason it helped the idle issue.
Went to another local dealer in the St. Louis, Bommarito Nissan. They covered the ECU update under the 80,000 mile warranty. I didn't even have to ask for it. Plus the service and facility were much better than the other dealers I have been too.
I noticed others had the same issue with the revs but if you are not in the immediate market for a new MAF and corresponding ECU update, I am not sure if you should just get the update for the hell of it.
And of course the car runs better. Pulls real well from 3k.
