engine mount problems........ again

so i had the front motor mount changed a couple weeks ago due to a constant buzzing sound. sounded like a small pump or motor that had seized up. was constant, even with the engine off. i found a wiring harness that stopped the sound when disconnected, so i had it changed and voila, no more noise. was good for almost two weeks, until last night.
the noise came back last night so i disconnected the harness again and most of the noise again stopped. only this time, there's still a faint electrical hum coming from somewhere in the front area of the engine bay. pretty sure it's not the fans.
does anyone know if the motor mounts are wired in series? is it possible that the front mount wasn't the problem at all and maybe it's another mount or relay??????? why the heck does the mount have an electrical lead anyway?

I can understand your frustration, what happened to the good ol' mechanical mounts.

What is even worse for us is that we have 4 count'm, 4 mounts. Why do we need 4 mounts, our cars are FWD for goodness sake!

mechincal mounts just can't absorb vibration as good. And with all this talk about smooth engines. Nissan had too

maximas have so many mounts because how otherwise will you hold up a box?

As far as I know there is three because I replaced all three.
1 motor mount holds the engine in the front.
Another holds the engine in the rear but is also connected to the tranny.
There is another motor mount on the tranny visable from the engine bay.

The electrical motor mounts work by hardening when you accelerate and soften when you stop. This is very usefull because it eliminates all engine vibration from the rest of the car.

The sound that you could hear is the engine mount having trouble soften or harden due to a failure in the cables (since its happening for the 2nd time). The sound that you heard was probobly air coming out of the mount since you turned off its power and the motor let out all of it.
