Your opinions

Hey Guys,

Just need some of your opinions here. My lease is coming up on my 03 max so its new car time! I am definitely leaning towards a Luxury AWD car (I live in the Northeast). I want to look at the G35x, BMW 3 series, Mercedes C 280, Volvo S40-S60, and Audi A4.

Has anyone driven any of these cars? What was good/bad? I have driven the G35 and I absolutely loved it. It handled well and was plenty fast.

Let me know what you guys think.

I will say this in closing, the max has been pretty good to me, but it's time to move on. Thanks in advance guys.

The new g35 looks promising...i would really consider that, especially if you want to stick with your brand. I absolutely love BMW's but their all wheel drive platform is not the best, they are the masters of real wheel drive performance. As far as the mercedes goes, the C280 is a good car, but has no where near the performace that i think you are looking for. 4matic is a good system, i have driven a lot of them while working for mercedes, but the performance is just lacking. Audi's all wheel drive is probably the most refined and that would be the other option i would consider. Audi Quattro is considered one of the best. Match Quattro with a 1.8t or a 3.0 and you have got yourself a compitant performer.

Go test drive them, see which one you like the best. After all, you're the one that will be driving it, not us. On that note, I'd go with the G35X just because of the VQ.

I would go with G35x. It's the most powerful of the group – 280hp , got the best weight distribution and its AWD is based on RWD

330 isn’t as powerful and not as roomy.

Mercedes C 280 – lacks power and basically, you are paying for the name

A4 – is based on FWD so it’ll behave more like FWD

I don’t know much about Volvo

Just don’t forget the most important thing is to test drive them all and choose the one you like the best.

Unless you want a Ford, I would stay away from the Volvo.
