i washed/waxed my car monday, and today, i got an inch-worth of yellow pollen all over my car...

my question, do you think its ok to remove the pollen using a soft polishing cloth?

i know i risk scratching, but im more worried about swirls. i cant stand my yellowish grey car!

As long as it's not stuck to the paint, it should be fine...

I live near Philly where the pollen counts have been insane and I bought a car duster thingy. I think it's called the California something or other. I've seen it on late night tv before. It's pretty much a mop with braided strands attached to a foot long plastic handle and body. It works really well the week after you wash or wax your car, but if it rains, fugetaboutit...

get a blower! It works great to blow all the pollen off especially on waxed cars. Pollen just floats off.

Duster

California Car Duster. This thing works great at removing pollen and dust. I use this twice per day. It does not scratch since its fibers are wax coated, but don't rub it too hard across the paint (use common sense). You may get a little smearing, but that's just the wax on the fibers (that can be buffed out). It's definately worth it.

PS

They also sell a small duster called a dash duster? This things works great at removing the dust from your instrument panel and stereo faceplate.

I'd highly recommend this too.

I would recommend one of those "dash duster" fancy wash clothes, or use some diaper soft clothes by lightly fanning the car with it (not rubbing). One of those feather dusters would probably work well, too. I pretty much just don't let the pollen bother me, because 30 minutes later it will be covered with pollen again.

yea California Duster is the only way to go. Go to Costco, you get the car duster and the dash duster for 12 bones. Watch out for the knock offs though. My friend got a knock off at Target, and the brushes aren't coated with any type of wax.

I use maguire's clear coat cleaner. it is like a prep before waxing ur car...those clear out contaminants on ur paint and work pretty well. some of pollens are sticky and u have to use ur nail and sratch them off.

btw, the cleaner also helps reduce minor swirl.
