ha, i'm also trying ot tackle this problem. If u dont mind coming to jersey, there's a few 5th gens preparing to get together to tackle this problem. We just gotta find a time and location thats flexible for everyone.

i'm a newbie but i got people like joe from mass and kevlo from florida giving support so things should hopefully go well when that time comes

sr20den has a fix for this that is currently on my car and does not involve using jb. i want to make sure the clock on the rod is right which will be confirmed on a dyno as soon as i get the time. i will ask him if he wants to posts the parts and procedures for a permanent fix.

just do it yourself.. get a good set of vice grips and you are set. I did it in 2 hrs cause I tried the screw driver first and I stripped one screw.... after the vice gri everything went smooth ..... give it a try and you will see how easy it is....

really just a matter of recording the parts and their description. the assembly is pretty straight forward. just as a note, i had previously used jb qwik and let it cure. it failed which prompted the move for an actual parts replacement that would do the trick.

Out of the three options #1 being jb weld, which imo is crap, I'd use one of those semi-solid 2-part epoxies, you know the ones with the hardener on the inside and filler on the outside, it's the same stuff as jb-weld but it's easier to work with, you can find it at any hardware store. #2 being to remove and disable, I'd go with option #3 which is what sloppymax did, take it apart and replace what needs to be replaced.
