ok an abundance of rainx i was taught leads to chattering although i have not experienced this in my mom's car which i loaded with a ton of rainx... the rainx i think dries out the rubber or something. rubbing alcohol (slight amount) keeps that rubber fresh and stops it from chattering. I use Trico blades and refills because Anco sucks ***** and PIAA are way too expensive. I always have used Trico, on my old pontiac and on the maxima's and my old sentra. they work great.

Stick with the OEM blades and you won't have any problems.

I've always used OEM's & Rain-X regularly and I have never had a chatter problem.

I have OEMs and I use rain x and I have bad chattering. I think I might try rain x blades from like target or something because they are insanely cheap there, everything is very cheap. If they aren't good, not a big deal getting bosch. I know they are very good, got them for my gf's old car and they were excellent.

i think its because the windows not wet enough. it makes the same sound as when you operate the wipers with the window dry right?

Did you ever try claying your windows and then clean your wiper blades with alcohol?

Just take a big crescent wrench and tighten it down just enough to hold the slim metal wiper blade arm. Then torque it just enough to put an twist in the arm. The problem seems to be that the little rubber flap gets stuck pointing up when the wipers are turned off. I think it gets comfortable in that position and so when you turn it on, the blade doesn't want flip without chattering. If your standing on the drivers side torque the arm clockwise. This has fixed chattering for me.

I too use OEM blades. They work really well, last a long time, and refills are cheap. In fact, the ones on my car right now are the originals from 2002. They have only recently started showing some cracks and streaks. I don't do anything special to them other than brush the debris off with my hand when they get dirty. I did begin claying my window last year after someone mentioned that it can be used on glass. Otherwise, they have been maintenance-free.

i have been using silblades for over a year and no problems. still wiping smooth and clear. they say it will last for 5 years... i will have to just wait and see how long they last. I am very happy that it still works after a year of use because I have used all the other brands and they only worked well for about 6 months. silblades cost $20 per blade. a little $$ but well worth it in the long run.

Michelin blades are cheap and effective. I've also used Trico blades on my Sentra. Silblades get great reviews from other Maxima owners, but I don't know that I want to spend that much money on wipers.
