Windshield washer nozzle failure?

Hey guys, recently my windshield washer sprayer started to shoot out fluid very slowly/weakly...before when I pull back on the handle, it sprays evenly with a strong burst....now it barely comes out and this kinda worried me....so I examine the nozzles to see if they were clogged...since I know its a common problem...to my suprise, they were fine...I tried pulling out the nozzle itself to examine the whole unit...it's fine

I have a feeling its the actual pump thats about to give out.....has this happened to anybody? If so, how much was the pump?

dumb ?, but do you have washer fluid in the reservoir? If its full, sounds like you either have a clog somewhere in the washer fluid lines, or as your 1st hunch is, the pump is going bad.

haha good thing you pointed it out....YES i do have fluid....as a matter of fact...when my car started to experience this symptom, one of my first solutions was to refill more fluid (on top of examining the unit itself)

That is a common problem on the 5th and 5.5 gens with a FSTB. I had to re-route my windshield washer line to ultimately fix the problem.

I just took apart my FSTB....and double checked the nozzles for anything abnormal...it still sprays out the same...oh well, I'm going to conclude it to be a weak pump...hopefully it doesn't fail anytime soon...

thanks for the tip e55

if you replace the nozzles, get new ones from a Murano...they spray in a nice "fan" pattern and fit in our hoods with only a small adjustment

I think mine were from a first year Murano, whatever that was. The only thing you hvae to do is use a file or dremel to shave down a little tab on them, and they will fit right in
