Rustproofing K Sport Coilovers

I have a set of K Sport coilovers, and due to the snow season arriving shortly I would like to coat my coilovers as a pre-caution to prevent rust. I'm not really sure what product would be best to use. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You can find Corrosion Preventative Compound, aka CPC, in some autopart stores. I don't remember the mil-spec number for it (military specification) but I found some stuff that meets all the same requirements as the CPC they use on military aircraft. It comes out as a thick liquid, and preserves anything you spray it on. I had Tein coilovers on my 240, and everyone complained that they rusted up to quickly. I used CPC on mine, and when I took them off 2 years later, they still had 0 rust on them. Its not just spray and forget, you have to reapply it every 3-4 months. Something else you could do is spray your coilovers down with fresh water every week and follow it up with Deep Creep, WD-40, etc. Not nearly as effective, but it should help.

When I wash my car I spray either PB Blaster or WD40 on my D2's.

I do have an OT question on K Sports, I have a set on my girls SE-R and the fronts squeak alot when turning at slow speeds. Do you all have the same problem?

When I first installed them, I was experiencing lots of clanking noises when turning the wheel. Since it was my first attempt at installing them, it turned out I didn't have things nearly tight enough. I re-tightened everything and coated the plastic spacers is wheel bearing grease, and since then all has been very quiet. Noise free for about 3 months now.

I realize they have a coating to prevent rust, however since a lot of other brands had problems with rust, I figure better safe than sorry. Afterall once the rust starts, your pretty much screwed.

The last time I checked they were all aluminum... how are they going to rust? the plating is just so they look nice and stay looking nice.

I guess you have a point. The only thing that makes me think there is a possibility of them rusting is that on Ksports website, thay advertise they are "electroplated to prevent rust", which makes me think there is a possibility of them rusting. Maybe not all the parts are aluminum. IMO aluminum seems it would be too soft for the threads. Anyways how can it hurt to put an added protective coating?
