Issues after starter regrease

Regreased the starter this weekend, worked like a charm. Interesting thing happened though after. Put the intake system back in plugged in everything. Car started fine no problem, I then took it for a drive and noticed something immediately. When I took it up to 3000 to 3200 rpms there's a very subtle kick, maybe hesitation before the tach keeps climbing. This is through all gears. Another thing I noticed, the car sounds like it missing slightly when idle. I listened to the exhaust again while idle, and can hear a slight subtle putt putt, maybe from the valves opening an closing at the wrong time.

Could this be from a timing slip when regreasing the starter?? Did I forget to plug something back in when putting the stock intake back one. I know for sure I connected two hose back to the intake. Any ideas or suggestions or comment, are appreciated. Thanks!

Make sure there are no leaks from the air intake. I know i did this once when I put the "tubes" back together. They weren't flush and tight. I had loss of power and it wasn't until soon the SES light came on and I knew exactly where the problem was.

nope regreasing the starter will not do anything. The starter is only tostart the car that the only thing it does. check the MAF and all the hoses around your intake........

Is there some kind of silicone to put around the big hose of the intake, to prevent air leaks from small cracks aorund. Everytime I put it in, the hose slides back a little.

On the starter, I regreased my about 3 weeks ago while doing clutch, no problem so far.. Starts without squeeks in cold morning temps.
