My left front wheel is crunching when I turn right. Its a hellacious noise. It stops whenI tap the brakes OR when I give it gas. I checked the brake caliper and it seems to be OK. I replaced the axle last winter and I suspect it is still good. I looked and nothing seems loose. I also jacked up the front and tried to wiggle the tire. There is no play up/down or side/side. Its a very loud crunching sound and seems to correlate with the turning of the wheels.

Does anybody have any idea what the problem could be?
