O2 Simulator problems

I have had the dual output simulator installed for about 5 months now. I thought all was well until a couple days ago when the SES light decided to make its presence once again. I know it is hooked up correctly and I have yet to get to Autozone to see what code is present. So, if anyone else has this, I hope you have better luck than me.

might want to make sure it is not a heater error which the simulator has nothing to do with. i got a heater error after about 3 months after the simulator was installed. my inspection is up so i plan on using the resistor to mock the heater signal as described on their site.

The first one I ever bought was defective, which took awhile to figure out. You can use a multimeter and test to see the voltage emitted from the white signal wire. It should oscillate between 0 to at least 0.6V which is the minimum voltage that the ECU will look for that registers a working secondary sensor.

Or it might just be what sloppymax described.

I checked mine tonight and it did oscillate between those values. Didn't fluctuate nearly as much as the "real" installed sensors.

Hey while we are on this topic, my mechanic installed an O2 simulator on the seconday O2 sensor but the CEL came back on for P0420. There is only one secondary O2 sensor on the fed spec max right?

Why would u say its related to the o2 simulator if u haven't pulled the codes yet?

Go get them checked out at autozone and report back with the #s...then we will be able to help diagnose it further
