Upgraded my rear view mirror with cool features
Not too much of a big mod, but I decided to replace my old rear view mirror which had temp. and compass, with a much better one. The one I replaced looks more sleeker. The readout is on the bottom with a blue flourescent readout. The mirrir dims with a cool blue tint, rather than the usual smoke. Another cool feature it has, other than the temp. and compass, is the "UV" feature. It has a UV display bar built into the mirror which measures the strength of the UV rays in the atmosphere via a sensor. If anyone is interested or thinking about upgrading their rear view mirror, I highly recommend this is the way to go. Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks for the compliments. Yeah, I have a 2000 SE, and for some reason Nissan doesn't put factory mirrors with compass AND temp. in our Max's. Instead, they use auto-dim only, auto-dim and compass, and plain old regular. (They put the temp. display in the '02-'03+ in the guage cluster.) The hookup is really simple. Since I had already pre-wired everything from my previous set up, installation went rather quick, except for the temp. sensor. From my last one, for the temp. display, I had tapped into the "ambient" wire since my car has auto A/C and the temp. probe sensor is already mounted in front of the car. But, for some reason, this didn't work for my new mirror. So, I had to mount and install the new sensor it came with. Now for the UV sensor, the sensor is in a mounting bolt for license plates. You must remove one mounting bolt from the license plate in front of the car and replace it with this sensor to monitor the UV rays. (This sensor was an added option, but I decided not to purchase it at this time, but probably will later). For the rest of the wiring, two power wires 12V+ (switched with ignition) and ground are needed. For power, I just tapped into the cigarette lighter. Rather really simple, huh?
