unless you want an optima or something, call a battery/alternator/starter rebuild shop and get a rebuilt battery for like $20

I like the Die Hard Gold from Sears.

Also, you can get one from Costco for $50-60. They have 3 years replacement warranty. Brand - Kirkland.

Die Hard Gold...period.

You get a reliable, powerful battery and Sears ALWAYS backs up their products.

what company makes die hard batteries? is it made by a major manufacturer then marketed under a different name, or is it an exclusive sears company?

the optima batteries are only worth it if youre in extreme cold or running a lot of electronics (stereo, subs, amps, etc) correct?

Yellow Top Optima is the way to go if you are worried about running the batt. down. Can withstand over 350 deep discharges. However, I will agree that it is a little pricy for just replacing a batt alone. Amazing batt. though.

I believe it is a Sears-owned company. Die Hards are sold at other places besides Sears, but they are originally Sears.

i picked up my yellow top for $115 because I know the owner of our local Interstate Battery. But I do think that I've heard of other orgers purchasing a red top @ SAM's Club for like $105 or $115 (or the equivalency...BJ's, COSTCO, etc)

Hey guys, i just had a new battery from Sear put in. It was the "DieHardŽ SUV, Truck & Van". I paid about $110 for it. Was this a bad choice? It was a little big, but it fit ok. I had to get rid of the plastic shield (insulator) around the OEM battery cuz it couldn't fit around the new battery. Any info would be helpful. Thanks!!!

you should be fine.. as long as the positive and negative cables have a good connection. For that much you might as well have gotten an optima but it doesnt really matter unless you have a system...

Consumer Reports does a review on car batteries each year. I would go with their review & recommendation.
