Flat Spots on Tires...Urghhhh

Urghhhh...well after installing my kit and ready to order my new suspension. I came across a disturbing noise from my tires. Well a few months ago as some of you know I got in a bad accident with my 4th generation. Old lady ran a yield sign and I plowed right into her car. Car was claimed as a total loss by her insurance company. So before they took it I took what I could off of the car. I was lucky enough to get my wheels off in which at that time seemed prefectly in good shape, no damage what so ever. Just recently I bought a 5th generation. I orderd my Stillen Kit, and now was on the way to ordering my suspension setup. Well...this past weekend I decided to throw on the 18" MM EVO5's that I was lucky enough salvage from my 4th gen. After riding on them this morning I realized I was getting a thumping noise from my tires, then I thought hmmm maybe need to get them rebalanced. I took it to NTB soon after I got out of class, and the tech guy said my two front tires have really bad flat spots and the rears are "so so". I finally came to a conclusion that right before I hit the old lady my car had skid 100ft+. With that in mind I realized when my car skid a 100ft the tire must have dragged. The tires had another 15k to go on them...blah. Now I'm forcing myself to buy a set of 18" tires again to replace these. I guess my suspension mod will have to wait. Super Sux...anyone got any good discounts on a set of 18" tires...

I've got a set of 245/40-18 Yokohama ES-100's that I can sell you. I took them off the car in the spring (with less than 6,000 miles on them), and just haven't gotten around to selling them. New, they're over $160 each at Tirerack. I figure $400 plus shipping for the set? Let me know if you're interested.

I think it was a poor choice to use those tires/ wheels again. You are lucky that the price to discover your error is so low.

yea...well I never thought about it. So now im ordering a new set of tires. Thanks for the offer MoCoMax, but I'm getting a set of Yokohama ES-100 from NTB installed for $480. If I buy tires from somewhere else they will charge me $35per wheel to install and balance. So I think I'm getting a fair deal...

Oh, that's an excellent deal. You could have made me an offer, though

Good luck with the new shoes.

Just don't get nitto 455. Smooth as glass but noisy azz hell. I thought i liked the tires but more i ride on them the worst they get. The side walls are to soft and the treads make to much noise. Tire drone is awful. Replacement is in order very soon
