Wierd

I've had a clunking noise from the left side of my car only over deep dips. Got the car aligned the other day and the clunking noise went away and everything was nice and tight. Over the last couple of days the noise is starting to come back. Any idea what it could be....HELP. I am thinking the sway bar ends but what does that have to do with an alignment.

Can some explain to me what bolts are used to adjust the front wheels when doing an alignment. I am wondering if they can come loose and cause clunking over bumps

Yeah... I have this problem too and when I posted about it some months ago I was told not to worry about it, something to do with some plastic piece underneath making noise and that does not really matter... I have been driving with it for a loooong time now and only notice it when I climb my driveway... Though you could make sure it is not your strut mounts, suspension, ball joints, bearings, control arms, tie rod, etc... But if they have not reported anything during the aligment, you should be fine

Yeah no problem reported during alignment. Just seems wierd how the noise went away after the alignment and now resurfaces as time goes on.

Don't you guys know about the Noise Fairy? She is the same one who changes our radio stations every now and then.

My noise fairy comes once in a while too then she disappears for a while, then she comes back... Oh, well, doesn't bother me... I can understand your frustration though

Sometime ago I read somewhere that 30% contributor to stress (2nd or 3rd highest) in males is unusual noise from the car... Go figure...

Belts you can change or adjust the tension to eliminate that noise...

I don't think its any plastic hitting anything cause when alignment done= no noise. Drive car for a week and now noise is slowly returning. Time for swaybar ends to be replaced i guess to see if it solves problem.

Sway bar ends were one of the suggestions when I inquired about it... It does not bother me so will leave it for now... Besides I am trying for fix some other probs with my car that I will need to spend time and money on before I will try to get rid of the noise... Nevertheless, let us know how it went with the replacement and if it had solved the problem...
