New Owner of a 2002 GLE

Hey guys... as of today I am the new owner of a 2002 Maxima GLE!!! WoOhOo! Go me!

Anyway, just wanted to stop in and say hello to the 5th genners in here, as I am now the newest member of the 5th generation maximas! I used to own a 91 SE (hence the s/n LMaRiE91MaXiMa) but over the weekend the tranny blew out and I had to move on to better things!

Anyway, is there any issues or anything I should know about this particular car?!? Hopefully not...

Welcome to the 5th gen family. Too bad you skipped the best .5 gen though.

congrats on the purchase. i got me 02 GLE last year and i love everything about it, it still impresses me with the power sometimes. the only thing i dont like, and i have been very vocal about it, is the damn chrome door handles. good luck with it.

what color combo did u get?

as far as issues and stuff go, DEFINITLEY read the stickies, there is a TON of usefull information in there.

If you put it up on Cardomain, I'd like to see pics of that color combo. I have a Black exterior / all grey interior. Which is ok, but I have a kid. I'm thinking of painting the lower interior panels black. If I win the lottery, I might even do black leather

i was abel to get rid of them on my 96 GLE with some matching decal tape I picked up at a riceboy shop in East brunswick...let me if you need any more info...

Congratulations, I got my black/black GLE in August.

Had to replace an o2 sensor and the bose headunit(though I ripped that one out quick and replaced it with an alpine I'm pleased with the results)

actually yeah, i would like to know more about this. PM me if you could, so we dont hi-jack this thread. how did it look, was it rice-tastic, or acceptable?
