Slipping Clutch

My 2000 SE Clutch is slipping like crazy. Has anybody replaced their clutch and if so what kit did you get. I don't need anything real crazy. The car is a daily driver. Just want something that will hold up better then the OEM one did and will be durable in the long run. I plan on replacing the clutch in the next week or two. Also does anybody know any good shops that can do the install located in suffolk county Long Island? Thanks!

try exedy or ACT - stage 2's. they're the two most wanted for racing. different types though and since you're using it as a daily driver on need for heavy duty ones.

I know guys with OEM Maxima clutches near 200K miles. They hold up fine if you're just driving normally, and not at the track all the time. OEM typically is BEST for durability for regular driving, and have the best driveablity. Aftermarket have advantages in performance and heavy duty applications (i.e. racing).

If you are below 150K miles and your clutch is shot, you may want to examine whether you're "riding" the clutch too much when driving.

Yeah the car has 84K miles on the original clutch. I know that it should have lasted longer then that, but the car went through 2 drivers learning to drive stick on it. I'm looking for something in the $200-250 range. Still a poor college student. Thanks!

I replaced my with the OEM one. Original lasted till 110K. When i took it off, is still had some juice left, but I just wanted to change it before winter. the kit is under $200, but with seals and refacing will run you about $250 if you do it yourself.
