Brake Problem

So one of my brakes will occasionally stick ON. Don't know it/hear it until I smell it. A few pumps of the brake pedal and it seems to unstick itself. Dealer tells me it the caliper piston. They want a ton of money to fix it. (of course)

Heard of this? It's the rear driver's side brake. Any cheap remedies?

just buy a rebuild kit from your local kragen or auto zone. Your piston is just seized on.

Just like A33 mentioned, the piston is most likely seized. I had same problem with one of the rear calipers. The piston boot ripped and all the lubricant leaked out thus the piston was exposed to water. It was rusted severly and became seized. I had to take the piston out, sand of the rust and polish the piston best I could. I bought a caliper rebuilt kit form dealer and it had all the necessary components for rebuilding the caliper.

Have you eliminated any other causes? I agree on taking the wheel off and inspecting the brakes. It may be a sticky slider pin....cheap fix.
