Rear window SMASHED!

Some body smashed out my rear window over the weekend. Ya it sucks but **** happens.

Question is has anybody replaced there own rear window or does everybody use glass shops?

Does anybody on here work at a glass shop and have any pointers also

Thanks in advance
Jason

if your insurance covers incidentals i would have a glass shop do it. My insuracne deductable it only like $50 for incidentals like glass and it gets done professionally... I guess it depends on your insurance coverage... Plus you can have a dealer do the work so they dont mess up the AM/FM antenna and defogger in the rear window...

been there done that - sucks man!! my insurance policy covers 100% of glass repairs though, so they replaced it for free. all i had to pay for was to get the tint redone. i would contact your insurance agency - they'll probably fix it for free.

I'm sure it was random. my car looks stock right now and the car was parked on the street in Seattle

I'm trying to not put another claim on my insurance. Found a guy that does all the window work for a body shop I deal with that will do it for about 300.00 installed. Dealer wants like 750.00 and I could get the glass and seal myself for about 200.00 so I guess I'll just have somebody do it for me.
