Some Car Trouble

3 things have happened so far..usually when it has been cold out

1 (this has happened 2 times, about 1 week apart) - sitting at a light, been driving between 5 - 10 minutes. Hit the gas, car doesn't go anywhere then around 2000 RPM's the transmission finally engages and the car moves (tires spinning a little)

2 (this happened 1 time) driving down the highway, let go of the gas pedal and RPM's drop down to IDLE, hit the gas they come back to driving RPM's then car finally accelerates

3 (this happened 1 time) driving home on Friday the car felt sluggish, like it was struggling to accelerate. I would have to floor it to get it to do anything. When I finally got home, it had no power. I could floor it at a dead stop and it felt like a go KART.

So I take it to the dealership on sunday (2 days later to drop it off), while driving there the car acts perfectly fine. They have it for 2 days, it acts fine for them and throws no codes. I pick it up, did a test drive with a tech and of course the car was fine.

Car is an 02 Auto with ~73,000 miles.

Any Ideas????

Thanks for the help

-JOE

i hate it when that happens, u see a problem and when u need it to show itself the most, it doesnt show at all....your luck is great

Transmission is bad. Same symptoms as mine before total failure.

Either valve body must be replaced or entire unit.

I think its your MAF. A bad MAF doesnt always throw codes...

i very highly doubt that your MAF is causing this. Sounds way more like a tranny issue to me

Either you are looking at total failure of the tranny, or you may be really low on tranny fluid. Sounds like torque converter doesnt have enough fluid to work properly.
