Advanced timing impressions

I had my timing advanced a couple of days ago and have about the same impression as a few others. By the way my car is an 03.
I did not really notice any difference 0-60, but it seems like it gained a bit from 60-100. I'm not sure if it's just me or if it's real.
Anyone else notice this? One other thing I noticed was that now at 80mph my tach sits at about 2800rpm. before it was at 3000rpm.

Also mine was at 14 degrees before advancing.

hmm, as far as I know, mine is stock(I bought it used about 6 months ago). Mine is an 02 and at 3,000RPM it is at 85.

Same here. As far as RPM change...mine runs 3000 @ 76mph, 3500 @ 88mph and 4000 @ 99mph. I don't know whats normal but that is currently at 17*. I had mine adjusted from 15 to 17, so by all means it wasn't anything drastic but I did notice a difference. O and gas mileage has definetly gotten better...I've got over 300 on the first tank after the advance and that was after a lot of heavy footed driving

You probably won't benefit from advancing the timing if your pump gas is anything like our crappy 91 here in CA. My Maxima pinged with the timing set to spec.

No dyno no care.

Mechanically impossible, I think we need a sticky or some kind of oformal post so that this theory can lay to rest once and for all.

Had my timing advanced to 17 about 2,000 miles ago (it was also at 14). Have noticed better high rpm pickup, smoother idle and slightly better gas mileage. Your rpms at any given speed shouldn't change as that's a function of the drive train and should be the same regardless of tuning (unless your engine is so sick the torque converter is unlocked).
