My new Nokya fogs (55w) burnt out in 2 weeks, and also on the same side as my last burnt bulb. do you think this is just bad luck? Or is something wrong with my electrical system? Thanks

get a voltometer..and check out if you are getting excessive power to the side that burnt out...then you will know if it is...thats mu suggestiong..good luck.

So use something like this?

http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...entPage=search

Also, when I plugged back the wires for the fog, I did not remember which was positive and negative, for both sides I just randomely plugged the wires back. Could this be the reason why? Maybe there is a distinct positive/negative...but then if I wired it wrong, it won't light up then right?

Yeah, check the circuit with a volt meter (prefereably a digital one to give you a more precise reading). All you do is place the positive probe (red) on the positive lead of the fog lamp harness and the negative probe (black) on the negative side of the harness. Read voltage across the circuit when fog light switch is on. Should read around 12 volts or so. If it stays continuous around 12 volts, the circuit should be good. Also, check the continuity between positive and negative leads of the harness. It should read "0". If there is some odd number, there could be a short somewhere. And to answer your second question, the harness plug going to the fog lamps only go in one way, so there is no way of reversing the polarity. The H3 bulb only works one way to illuminate, so yeah, it matters for correct polarity.

.. continuity is resistance. that weird _|-|_ line thing. find out what teh resistance is supposed to be and check it. if the resistance is too low, u probably have a short somewhere, thus causing too much current (amps) to go through the circuit and burning out the bulb

ive had the same problem but my undercarriage spashguards tore off after my uncle drove over some tread left from a semi ont he highway. all this time i think the wires were getting wet. do you think its because of bad workmanship (dealership put them in when i bought it) or because of the engine splashguards?
