Grounding Kit with Optima Red Top?

This morning I went to remote start my car with my new Compustar alarm/remote start setup and it sent back on the 2 way that it didn't start and when I went outside and tried again it was because my battery was taking forever to turn over so I got it tested at AutoZone and voltage was fine but the cranking and other test showed results in the Danger zone so I purchased an Optima Red Top 75/35 finally and now of course it's starting great. I hope it holds up during the cold winter...ok enough background...

Now that I have the Optima Red Top, with it being a much more high performance battery than stock, is it necessary to still have ground wires coming off of the battery to the ground or could I remove them? Thanks guys.

Remove them.

A grounding kit is nothing but show.

A simple 1/0 AWG wire from the battery negative terminal to the chassis will work BETTER than those ridiculous grounding kits everyone swears by.

Why is that? The purpose of a gounding kit seems pretty valid to me, though I am no electrician.

I put my BlehmCo ground kit 3 months after my optima red top....boy did I thought the optima red top alone was a dream come true...I was wrong...the ground kit helped significantly paired to my optima red top...starting is now effort-less...my Navi screen is now brighter and crisp...also my dash lights seem to be brighter too....Ground wires rule!

What does a ground kit do?

Provides additional electron capacity to the battery by creating a pseudo circut (for lack of a better word) in which additional electrical capacity may be charged.

A simple battery to chassis ground will do the same thing.

Cupris Hydroxide Monohydrate aka verdigris aka corrosion. Just disconnect the and sand it with some 150-grit paper...problems solved. FIX IT SOON. The verdigris can inhibit electrical flow and melt your wires is left to go too long.

Isn't an optima battery completely sealed unit? Why would it be corroding?

No prob, man...we're all here to learn, right?

Water + metal + oxygen = corrosion

Simple chemistry, brotha.

^^^ WEEE i just learned something

So a basic 1/0 AWG wire to the chassis will do rather than some expensive ground wire??

YES. Put $10 out, get 1ft. of Stinger Expert 1/0AWG, enjoy a cheaper grounding kit.

Ground Kit is a waste of money. If you really want to do something as far as uprgrading your ground wires, you can do "the big 3". This is really not neccessary though unless you are running a high powered audio system. Although I do suffer from a pretty bad case being **** so I will be doing this anyways. Good cheap mod!

Well put.

Ground to chassis is the first step, I really don't forsee this as being a tangible resort for those whom may simply be seeking a grounding kit, though. Always nice to have, though...

If you already have it wired there's no reason to remove it just because you got a better battery. If your redtop had dual posts use the 2nd post for the hyperground.
