trunk liner and shocks

trunk liner and shocks

i have the infinity basslink on the left where every1 puts em and am wondering can i get the trunk liner out or out of the way enough to instasll rear struts without removing the basslink?

Yes, you will have to get to the bolts by folding your seats, and going through the back. a 6" or 8" extension bar for your socket wrench is very useful. i did it this way in about 30 mins per side, using a 6" extension and a universal joint. make sure you have a telescoping magnet when putting the nuts back on the strut tops. if one of the nuts rolls under the seatback, it's a pain in the a$$ to get back out. i usually hold the nut on the bottom/side with the magnet, and lightly thread it on with the socket. you can then remove the magnet and tighten everything properly.

That's the biggest PITA I've ever experienced. I hated changing the rears.

Just thought I would vent a bit.

that's what i thought too the first time i changed them, but the second time i used a 6" extension, and it was much easier for me than the fronts. it's kind of a tight fit, but the strut is much easier to get in than the fronts.
