aaaargh I cant decide!! I have a black 97 and I love it so much, the black on the 2k looks even nicer. Then again the silver 2k brings out the SE's tails so much... cant.. decide... must... choose... Any adivse than can help me choose? I sat at the dealer today forever trying to decide!? I honestly love them both

I bought my black max in November and is impossible to keep the paint clean. Next car I get will definitely be grey or silver. Just my opinion though. The black is beautiful when clean though.

Had black car previously. Big pain to keep it clean which I do often. Silver cleans up nicely and stays looking clean even when "dirty". Looks classy, too, IMHO.

I have black. Like everyone keeps saying, it is beautiful while clean but that only lasts about 2 hours then it starts to collect dust. Next time I'm going with Grey Luster I have a feeling it will hide the dirt a lot better.

Gray Lustre

I got the gray lustre simply because I wanted the black, but also wanted something easier to keep clean.

The gray lustre looks very nice. It is easier to keep clean than black, but still shows mud and dirt a lot more than the lighter colors.

Every time I see a black Max, I wish I had bought a black one instead. Oh, well...

Last suggestion, y not get white ? I think the stock white/pearl SE looks the best. Myself i have grey, it is very nice but like the last post, dirt stains do show up real easily, espcially wen they always fixin road around where i live.

Like everyone has said, black looks beautiful when clean, but it's impossible to keep clean. I'll never buy another black car. The Sterling Mist is my fave color on the Max.

LOL

I own a black 2000 SE. I was so mad after the first time I washed it I told my wife I was going to sell it and get a silver one. I think the Silver like the one in the big pic below is the only other color that can rival the classiness of black. But I have kept my black. Why? Its my toy. I just put it away for the winter and it has less that 3000 miles on it (Had to make a few highway runs to put some miles on it for the SC in the Spring...lots of chips...uggghhh). And I don't care what anyone tries to tell you. Nothing looks as hot as a clean black Max. Period. So it depends. If its a daily driver I'd go Silver in an eyeblink. If its a bit of a toy and you realize the work involved and are comfortable with it then get Black.

Its a catch 22 really. If you get black you will be cursing yourself every Saturday as you roll out of bed way to early to get started cleaning it. And if you get silver you will regret it the first time a black one pulls up beside you. Good luck with your choice....its a nasty one.

It's true what everyone says about super black being a pain in the butt to keep clean, but you know what. After you clean it you'll be saying, I'm glad I went w/the super black. Nothing looks better.

Go silver! Had a friend buy a silver just 2 weeks ago. It is beautiful. Best looking color offered.

It's true, I still look longingly (but not enviously) at black ones. But another thing that sucks about them, besides having to clean them so much, is that if it's a hot sunny day, you have to do like one body panel at a time -- wash, rinse, and dry -- or else the water evaporates immediately and you end up with water spots everywhere.

Icelandic Pearl

I am glad that I got the IP....no one has it...and it looks so good! I never liked white paint jobs....I would have bought the silver if a 5 speed was available at the lot....but all they had was a IP 5 speed with black leather...and I had to get it. The color looks sooo pimp in the sun! I hate when bugs gets splattered on the front end...(my only complaint with the IP).

Black Black Black

It's hard to keep clean but . . . because it gets dirty easy, it gets cleaned more!!

I think it is the best color by far - for the SE only. The tail lights on the other styles (GXE GLE)don't blend in the same since they are red rather than black. I love the black, but wouldn't have gotten in if it hadn't been an SE.

Come to think of it, I probably wouldn't have gotten black without the 17" wheels (or without aftermarkets) either. It is that whole combo that makes the black look so damn good.

Try Zaino - the car stays cleaner.
