Cutting cat make different tone?
Ok, well went Christmas shopping today and got stuck in the middle of the intersection because of stupid drivers/car accidents. So, I had to WOT to hurry and get out of the intersection and into another lane to prevent another accident. After doing this a sure could smell the cats. woooo weeeeee was it bad. I'm going to hook a mastertech to it and check lean/rich condition of the rear 02's. Anyway's if my converter comes out bad.-"The rotten egg smell was horindous" I don't really think I'm going to replace it. I checked a few places and found a universal one for $80.00---BLAH- I hate customizing crap to make it fix...... And stock replacement is Front $565.25
Rear . 208003Y225 $667.31---through Nissan according to alldata. I have no cats on my Mustang, and my buddy cut his off his aurora. Anyway's my question is if they turn out bad and instead of replacing I put a straight pipe (Or mandrel bent) in place of it does that change the sound of the exhaust. He cut his off and it gave his car a much loader throatier sound, which I don't want on my family sedan.

Wasn't sure if that was possible if cats where cut. - I haven't verified the cats are bad yet, but am assuming they are. BTW no emissions testing here.
I would stick with a HF Cat, it will barely change your exhaust tone on a stock car. Gutting it or deleting it will effect it more.
