Wheel Vibrating

I had a tire replaced about a week ago on my rear driver side wheel. This past Thursday I decided to rotate this wheel to the front driver side wheel. After doing so, I noticed that as I pick up speed or slowed down (0-25 mph) the wheel sort of vibrates and makes a knocking sound. I am going in to see if the wheel needs to be balanced, but before doing so, I wanted to check to see if there were any other suggestions as to what this might be. BTW, I have the OE 2002 SE 17's. Any input will be appreciated. Just want to be prepared for what they may tell me the problem is.

It just might be that your rim is bent slightly which is hard to balance. Both my rims are slightly bent , the guy doing wheel balancing showed me how uneven the wheel was even with a slight deformity that you can only tell when it spins.

If your rim is bent, then just swap the tires onto a good rim and put it in front and bad rim in back.

Maybe the wheel need to be re-balanced. This happend to me quite often specially in winter when snow get jammed in the wheel, that de-balance the wheel and make the wheel shake as speed increase, once you clear the snow in the wheel then everything come back to normal.

After reading your reply about the bent rim, that may be the case. I never noticed this when the rim was on the back. I may have to switch it back.
