D2 coilover before and after install

DragDmax and I just got done installing his D2 coilovers...the installation went smooth as butter and it only took us 5 hours to install AND tune them....no air tools either...not to mention a 30min lunch break within that 5hrs ...well here are the results!

Pretty stiff...it's on max dampening right now...I believe its 6 turns allan screw....but definitely handles much better than stock

Looks good. I have mine at very close to the same drop. I have my dampening set in the middle between soft and stiff. Much stiffer than stock, but not bone jarring. And as you said, the handling is super!

look sweet but only in my dream, down here NY/NJ is a nono for coilover, my friend got Tein with those fency electronic control, even the softest are killing me, but the ride/cornering is superb even without FSTB, RSB or LTB.

Trust me, I would pick up that front end to at least 25". You will be nailing crap all the time otherwise.

i would get coilovers but even with stock ride, the ride sucks here. because there are so many uneven roads and dangerous potholes. i love the look, but its really not worth it for me.

I don't worry too much about nailing crap when this low...I have been riding slammed for over 1.5yrs on my max...never really had a major issue...you just have to adjust your driving style big time...also it depends on where you live too...I live in a fairly smooth pavement county...

If you guys are going to keep your cars slammed that low for a long time, say bye bye to your power steering racks Mine has a butt-load of play in it now, I can move the steering wheel bout 10 deg eighter way on the highway and the car doesn't respond. Slamming it is cool, but it kills your power steering rack with all the bump steer.

I'd suggest raising it about 0.5-1 inch all around just to smooth things out a bit. IMO different tire/wheel combos will make the ride feel different and also the overall appearance given the same coilover settings.

If they are noisy, check the lower mount. Make sure the alan screws are REALLY tight.

I would also soften it up a bit, they will also soften as they break in.

Yeah they have about 14k miles on them before I took them off....he definitely needs an alignment...his camber is like way off and so is his toe in...you can see it with the naked eye how off his tires are....I'm sure after the alignment, his ride will be much smoother....

Yeah it will. I got mine REALLY close, camber was almost perfect and my toe was off a bit and I noticed a big difference when it was put into spec.

Looks good, but i also live in a state where the roads are just to bad for coilovers. The stock suspension takes enough beating on boston roads.

I really dont think the D2's do to bad over crappy roads. We have some crappy roads, but they D2's soak up the stuff pretty well. Only time I notice them is when I go slow, anything above 30mph and the D2's have it no prob.

I guess I am also used to a harsher ride. So I might think it is normal. But I would not let the roads sop you, just get a softer spring rate.
