D2 coilover before and after install

As of now... yes. But from what I have seen they all get noisy. As I said check those alan bolts on the bottom mount. I noticed that gunk builds up in them (lower mount) and helps prevents them from fully getting fully tight and they get noisy. Also many said that it comes from the pillow ball mount. I guess the noise is just part of owning and enjoying coilovers...
Just crank the radio up a bit and they are really quite.

Yeah I did and it went away, now its back.... I give up. I am just going to live with the noise.

Well, coilovers have prob 5x the moving parts that a normal suspension does. thats my guess, the more complicated things get, the more problems they cause.
Cerritos isn't that flat...I'd raise it a bit otherwise you/he will be bumping **** a lot.
Yeah D2's make noise, but I can't compare with other coilovers as these are the only ones I've had. Since I was one of the early birds on here to get them I've noticed that the noises come from a few different areas....
1. Lower mount allen bolts (tighten and use loctite, do not overtighten as these mounts are only aluminum, I suggest getting some stainless allen bolts because the ones that come with the D2's will rust and be a ***** to work with later)
2. Top mount pillow ***** (tighten top nut on strut mount inside the engine bay with an impact wrench, use loctite on this also as it will come loose, this will need a lot of attention if you wish to keep the noise down)
3. Springs and top and bottom hats rubbing creating a creaking sound (this one sucks ***** because no one has found a viable option to stop this. I tried grease and it helped but it gets dirty as hell and needs a lot of maintenance. I also tried some aftermarket spring isolators from energy suspension and they worked well for a little while but not its creaking again so they are either out of place or torn. Not sure what else to do?)
I guess like a few others said it comes with owning coilovers.

Do you know what you torqued them down to? I am afraid of over doing it, how much can/should I torque them?

Was this while the car is on the ground or jacked up? I found that you can tighten them more when the car is lowered.

IMO, properly designed and installed coilovers should NOT make any noise whatsoever. I'm sure when BMW, Audi, or Porsche owners buying their Tein, JICs, or Eibach coilovers don't just cope with problems like we do.
I haven't read all that much complaining on the K-sports, which from what i've seen are a improved and revised edition to the D2's.
The only way to torque the top nut while the car is in the air is with air tools or an electric impact wrench

When I put my D2's on I had it 25.5inchs from ground to fender. It was rubbing a lot at semi-full turns, and full turns. I am on stock wheels thought. Brought it up an inch and it helped.
whats ur caster at when ur that low, my alignment place sadi mine was way off, and im even lower now than i was. im at 24 in front and 24.5 in back right now, but i dont drive my max in the winter so mos of the time it isnt a big deal.
yah my caster is off i believe....i forgot the exact specs but i know they are off
anyway...anybody on here run -1 deg in the front tires? It's still within specs according to the FSM...just wondering if anybody had trouble with tire wear with -1 deg....anybody tried -1.5?
