Highway Shutdown

This might be a repost but I couldn't find what I was looking for.

Car's a 2002 SE Auto. I was on my home from work today when I tried to pass a slower car, the Maxima hesitated and my dash lit up (SES, Airbag..etc) . The car slowed down and I had to turn it off for 5 mins. SES light is still on and the car seem to sputter on idle and hesitates when it shifts. Car seems to be ok, no leaks or anything. What could be the problem? MAF? I don't have the SES codes right now but I want to know what you guys think might be the problem.

Ehh...I went to go check if the car's just acting up. It turns over, but it dies after 3 seconds. I'm thinking battery...or alternator. Hopefully just the battery.

Thanks. It was the MAF. I replaced it with the 2K1, reset the ECU and it now works perfectly. From reading other MAF related posts, I should've picked up on my decreasing gas mileage (230miles on a full tank). Thanks for the help.
