Squeaky Clutch....

felt like bringing this up. in the past, i've seen numerous threads where a squeaky clutch meant something about replacing or adjusting the fork in your tranny. **** if i know, all i remember is that it was blamed on that.

well this past weekend i was driving my moms CRV and it was squeaking like crazy and all i told myself was "seriously, why can't i just oil this phucker up". so i got some lithium grease, and under the dash, where there clutch cable disappears into the firewall (where the clutch pedal rests when pushed in all the way) i sprayed about 2 small sprays. noise disappeared immediately. i then turned around and tried it n my car, and much to my surprise, it went away as well. this whole time, i'm thinking it was something i had to deal with, when it was NOTHING more than just a dried cable and a few squirts of lithium took care of it IMMEDIATELY.

anywho, some of yall have prolly fixed it like this, but i do recall many having the same issue and just saying "i play my music loud so i just dnot' hear it now". well, now you know what to do.

I've had the dealer replace the entire assembly already once, and I only made it a mile down the road b4 it started doing it again.

Makes me wonder if they actually DID replace it?!

I've never acutally tried lubing the thing, but I guess I'll try the "old fashioned" method next.

well that's the dumb thing...i never though of oiling cause i thought "it can't be JUST that"....and then when i noticed moms car did the same thing, i figured i'd give it a shot. 2 seconds, 2 sprays, not even a lot, and it was gone.

yep, right at that point. i dind't overdo, so it was literally 2 quick squirts. 1 one have been enough, but that alone took care of it. i had lithium spray laying around, so i imagine any brand is the same. point being, it needed to be lubricated, so i used white lithium.
