If there is more of a coolant than water in the cooling system will that cause the water pump to work harder and fail?

 

Intresting question....It may be possible that the extra coolant could possibly over lubricate the parts and possibly work itself into the bearing easier, but I'm not for certain and would think it is unlikely..Subscribing for more info.. I've never heard of this happening....A more common cause would be using non-purified tap water. The non-purified water has more electrolytes which can break down the coolant faster and can actually eat away at aluminum.

 

Don't go much over 50% antifreeze. The ability for the coolant to remove/transfer heat will be decreased.
