Fuel Pump

has anyone upgraded their fuel pump? Such as with the WALBRO FUEL PUMP 255 LPH? Does it improve gas milage?

i don't think upgrading the fuel pump would IMPROVE gas mileage....i'd think it decrease gas mileage....

the stock maxima system runs real rich...upgrading the fuel pump will make it even richer

my cousin upgraded his fuel pump and filter on his 96 impalla and said it increased his gas mileage. I figured i would just ask.

As long as your getting plenty of fuel pressure and not modified very much stock pump will be fine...Going with a higher rate fuel pump is pretty much a waste of money unless you plan on doing mods and bigger injectors in the future...Your P/R will only allow so much fuel through anyways. The rest of it just bleeds off of your pump and right back into your tank...
If you do need a replacement. +1 for walbro..Hands down best fuel pumps....If I remember right almost all manufacturers use walbro stock. They are quiet and reliiably.
Your cousins increased fuel mileage was probably due to a weak pump or clogged filter.
