My SIRIUS Satellite Radio Setup...a nice cheap option!

Here are some pics of my setup. Sound quality isn't 100% but a strong alternative to the FM Modulator. Just run the tape deck adapter underneath the steering wheel column cover and you're set! Also a pic of where I installed my antenna...

Sirius is the way to go.... put one in about 3 weeks ago and haven't listened to the FM since. I got a Starmate and mountedit between the rearview and roof. Tight fit, but that's the way I like it.... I'll have pics one of these days... of the SIRIUS that is...

Sirius is awesome. I've installed a Sportster and the Kenwood tuner with my DDX7015 in a couple A33s, a sportster in a Spec-V, a sportster in a M35, a sportster replay in a RX300, a starmate in a Camry, and a Starbase in a Mazda3.

The Starbase is my favorite unit, by far.

How did you wire this in and where did you get the clamp? Did you use a fm modulator?

helppppppppp

so i have an aftermarket radio.... pioneer TV... so either way i get horrible reception on FM, and god only knows about AM.. i WILL get SIRIUS radio, but im wondering, it has its own antenna correct? so i shoudl have good reception. because if its my Radio quailty, itll all be a waste.

yes you can. The SIRIUS Visor comes with a bracking mount as well as a suction cup mount. I just hate to drill in the dash when it isn't necessary, but to each his own. Go hunting for these units at BB... pricing isn't too bad for satellite radio these days.

I installed an aftermarket cd receiver and suffered from poor FM and AM reception. Then I saw a little white box wrapped in like foam. I stuffed a wire into that in the back and the other end into my receiver's ATT wire and checked for reception. I noticed a huge difference. Just be careful. I'll try to get a picture tonight and post it up.

I saw the other post you had about this and checked the factory service manual for my 2000, and it has the booster shown in the diagrams as well. Page EL-175
For the 2000 it's a green/white wire and located at pin 5 on the white M62/64/66 connector. I haven't connected mine yet, but will this weekend since I need to pull everything out to connect my RCA cables

Man, you guys are really going to make me go pick up a Sirius unit. I've been seriously considering for the last few days, just not sure yet what I want to do. I guess I need to decide if I'm going to replace my entire Bose system first.
