5.5 gen w/OEM gauge rings - how to install chrome ones?

My friend ordered the clip-on type chrome gauge rings from Sycefiro. He's got a 5.5 gen with the silverish/greyish OEM gauge rings around the tach and speedo.

Has anyone successfully been able to install chrome rings on this type of cluster? If the OEM ring is removed, the opening is too big. If the ring stays, the lip on the chrome ring scratches the inner part of the OEM ring, and the ring will not stay in firmly.

If they are not compatible, do the sticky type from Paradox work?

Thanks all,
Nilesh

The ones I got from Paradox sit over the stock rings. The rings have a groove in them with glue which stick over the gauges.

I've never seen the clip on types....never heard of them actually. Do you have any pics or link?

I bought the ones from CustomMaxima for both my 2003 and my wife's 2000 and they work great, takes about 1/2 hour to install. The ones with the clips... I don't know, really. I haven't heard much, but CLIPS?

not CLIPS persay, but there is a lip on the outside of the ring that will press against the inner part of the bezel, holding it in place. They work find and give enough pressure for the temp/fuel gauges, but being that these OEM rings are in the way, and the angle of their bezels, the clips are rendered useless.

Ravi, can you shoot a pic of the glue-type rings on top of your OEM rings?

i got the sticky ones from paradox and those fu<kers keep sliding down making my needle get stuck against it so now i have to drive without the plastic peice that goes in front of the gauges so i can constantly adjust them so the needles are free
