Vias problem

i noticed that my VIAS (variable intake air system) isn't working. The solenoid is not functioning i would rev it slowly it normally opens at about 1800rpm and now nothing. i did notice more initial get up and go but not as much top end. although i did pull dirty on a freeway run against an 02-03 tl type-s (260hp) from 80 to 125 (about 3 cars). but anyways what can i do what will i tell the dealer they probably have no idea. has this ever happend to anyone? didn't the 5th gen max 3.0L have this problem?

did u already do the vias jb weld fix? My nissan tech suggested not getting into it and i feel the most power as the engine reaches 6k rpm so i left it alone. I also stripped up the bolts trying to mod it myself and almost tore my fuel line. I have no luck with engine modding.

is it common for the VIAS to brake on automatics?

i believe on your 2k2, the VIAS opens at 3800 rpms (definitely NOT at 1800 rpm). If your solenoid isn't working, no amount of jb weld will fix it.

the vq35 has a different IM than the 3.0

it is common for the vias rod to seperate from the cup from which it spins for any 3.0 motor that sees regular 5k+ rpms.
