Transmission problems. 2 codes pulled.

My transmission is not engaging in 4th gear. It slips from 2nd to 3rd gear. The shifts are also prolonged.

I went to Autozone and they pulled 2 codes. They are:
P0744- The PCM has determined that the voltage signal from the torque converter clutch is intermittent.

P0745- The PCM has determined that a malfunction exists in the electrical circuit for pressure control solenoid "A."

From these codes (pulled a month ago), I decided to replaced the solenoid pack. I drove it for 2 miles and the problem was still there.

Last night, I removed the pan and VB again(3rd time). There are metal shavings in the fluid. The thing is, I replaced 6 quarts during the solenoid swap. I have only put 300 miles on it since the solenoid pack swap.

I am shipping out my VB to maximumtuning today. Do you think it's a faulty VB that is causing the problem? If the rebuilt VB doesn't fix the problem, I am going to do a 6-speed conversion.

Thanks beforehand for the help, guys.

what? where did you get that info from? please stop spreading false info because that is not true.

van i am going to look at what fsm says about it. indication of shavings is not a good thing especially if there is alot of them. hit me up on aim and i can send you all the info.

ok van hope this helps you man.

first is your at light on?
code 744 is not a electrical code but a mechanical code. it could be numerous mecahnical things.
code 745 is a line pressure solinoid valve.

so hit me up on aim and i will send you the info on how to test it. most likely its your solenoids that are causing your codes and locking up your torque convertor.

Post a link saying that it does. You can see that it isn't mounted the same by just looking at it...

Thanks for everything so far, guys. That's the thing. I replaced the solenoid packs to no avail. My only option is to rebuild the VB. If that doesn't work, the only solution is to do a 6-speed conversion.

Mass Media- are the mounts two seperate pieces for an auto and manual? If so, is there a way to use the top of the automatic transmission mount with the bottom bracket of the manual mount? This is just an assumption, but I don't think Nissan will weld on different mounting points for an auto vs. a manual.

wrong person to ask van. the auto mount is welded to the frame while the 6 speed mount is bolted to the frame. so basically all you do is get rid of the old mount and drill 2 holes that secure the mount to the frame and you are all set.

I hate people spreading rumors about things they absolutely have no idea about. The 6 Speed swap is not difficult.....

I've been having a problem like that, and someone told me it could be the fuel filter.
