fixing small leather scratch

I sat in the back seat of my car for the first time ever the other day and i discovered that the leather inserts on the door both have a smll scratch on them. its not ripped, but ifyou run your hand over it, you can feel the abrasion. what can i do to fix this?

All you do is get some real, fine grit wet sandpaper (1200-1500 grit) and sand over the scratch or infected area. Keep it wet while sanding. The leather will then smooth out and the scratch should "disappear" to the naked eye. Use some leather cleaner or leather lotion when done, and it should look good as new. I did this on my rear seats when I had some bad surface scratches and now, you can't even tell that it has been scratched.

Sorry to hijack this discussion, but what do you do for more substantial scratches - onces where the a dark gray is seen rather than the light (snow) gray? Thanks in advance.
