Maybe new LED idea......

hey ive been going a little LED crazy with everything but i was wondering what would look best for our clear corners........should i fill up the whole assembly with LEDs or just a row?? heres a pic of it just as a row....( KEEP IN MIND THAT THESE ARE 5mm 10,000MCD LEDs)

i dunno which would look best...... because if i end up doing it this way i will shave the led so it fills up more but still have that some what line look and right now its on a card board template so thats why it looks a little crooked.......

I would think its better to fill up the whole marker. The straight line will make your car look like the side of a trailer truck at night lol

IMO the straight line would look good since it would not attract too much attention to your side markers but still give a custom eye-catching effect

yeah, the ones from autolumination are great. i got the same ones from ebay for less $. they make the whole sidemarker glow because the led shine into the reflector, just like incandescent bulbs. they are brighter and better light too. the straight line would look cool, but i dont see it "lighting up" the whole sidemarker.

the ones on the right are the inverted ones. They work great, I had them on my 03 for about 2 years without any issues

How bright are the inverted ones (on the right), compared to the 5 LED matrix (the ones on the left) and stock bulbs?

I don't have any experience with the 5 led matrix. I only used the Inverted which as I stated earlier filled the whole assembly. They were bright enough to see the reflection in dirty cars as they passed by. I hope that helps.

A single inverted LED lit up the whole sidemarker or did you use multiple LEDs?

I use those 5 led matrix bulbs, clear in the front and red in the back, and they all fill up the entire sidemarker pretty well.

Did you drill holes in the back housing, or cut it right off.
I was going to do this too. The single row looks good, I thought about doing 2rows, but it looks like it may not fit.

what i did was drememled open the housing on the side like how it shows in the pic

and once the top lens was off i could seperate the clear reflecter from the bottom portion of the light

and thats how im going to put the leds in under the reflecter so it still reflects light

YES!!! I don't know how to make it any more clear. All the dremeling is extra. I'm trying to tell you guys, if fills the WHOLE lense. Multiple Leds are overkill and will probably get you a ticket seeing as though putting red lights on your car is illegal anyway...

I found pics of puppetmaster's car with the inverted led's installed in the clears, Enjoy
